This bird has the classic look of a Cooper's. Notice the large (in relation to the body) flat head. See how this bird has a cap and not a hood, as a Sharp-shinned would have. The dark coloring of the head does not go down the back of the head, as a Sharp-shinned's does. The tail is longer (relative to the body) than that of a Sharp-shinned. Also note the white band at the tip of the tail. In the Sharp-shinned it would be gray instead of white.
