One summer a family of Eastern Screech Owls nested near the edge of our yard. One night I found this youngster and a parent sitting in this large Red Cedar tree near the house. The parent flew a short distance away, but this young fellow stayed. I tried to take the photo, but there wasn't enough light for the camera to focus, so I grabbed a flashlight and propped it on the edge of the walk, so that it was pointed up at the bird. The camera was then able to focus and with the aid of the flash I took this photo. From the look on this guy's face I don't think he was too happy about it.
