Looking North

A North Korean observation post in the Joint Security Area (JSA). The flat foreground is South Korea, the sloping ground is North Korea. The two white posts at the base of the slope represent the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) - the actual border between North and South Korea. At the base of the tower, to the left, is a North Korean soldier - see the next photograph.
