Santa Fe Railway's latest technological development in speeding perishable freight shipments from field to market is this electromnically controlled icing machine which moves along 12 foot apart rails atop icing dock at Bakersfield; Calif. Ice is pulled into machine from conveyor chain and up conveyor of machine where it is crushed and delivered by chute to bunkers of refrigerator car. "Reefer" can be iced in 90 seconds by this mechanical method.
