What really matters is........snow on the mountains.

This area is high desert, so we need all the snow in the mountains to provide the necessary water to last all summer.

Excellent image James, it seems that winter is in the high country this year, we have plenty of snow in the mountains ( 100% of normal ) at all stations but none on the valley floor...
