I'd say both. A mantis is a kind of mantid. Did you see on one of the funniest videos programs where someone was jousting with a mantis? They were "attacking" it with a bo, and it was fending off the blows with its arms. The bo was perhaps several thousand times larger than the mantis, but it didn't seem to notice. I'm curious about what kind of plant that is. -- Victor
My 10yearold daughter says this is some sort of Flower Mantid - whatevertheheck that is! LOL!
Me: Don't you mean 'mantis'?
Her: Related. Eats bugs like bees, ants, beetles. It doesn't like eating the wings or legs so it rips them off. The females kill the males when they're really under stress. Some species can change color, but everyone knows that! They live in the rainforest. Sometimes they think they can kill mice but they really, pretty much, don't.
Me: How do you know all this?
Her: Books.
If it weren't for her, I'd think this was an Dinosaurus Anorexia Nervosa! LOL!
