Kali's blackness symbolizes her all-embracing nature. Black is the color into which all others
absorb. All colors disappear in blackness as all things disappear within Kali. Black represents
the total absence of color, denoting Kali as the Ultimate Reality. Trying to avoid potholes
and cracks in the pavement while the Ultimate Reality rests on my fingertips is stressful, to
say the least.
