Recently Discovered

Through the center of our city runs a large drainage ditch.
Along this drainage ditch you will find drain outlets such as shown in the image above.
I recently discovered that for years, the teens in our area, my son included, have used these for a sort of daring game.
They take off into one side of them and travel through them to the other end.
After some brief calculating, I figured this one out to be probably one mile in length.
My first thought was, snakes, black widow spiders, and yes even coyotes might use these.
My second thought was, thank God my son is now an adult and has moved on to more dangerous thrills such as racing cars.
Oh and he now pays for his own insurance.

This is a beautiful way of picturing a drainage ditch.

An urban form of caving? Love the elliptic opening around the round black hole.

That is a fascinating network of tunnels. I really like your image a great deal. Your use of light and shadow do a fine job of dramatizing it.

Heheh I immediately thought of Stephen King's "IT". LOL
