In a late soft afternoonsun the priest came by to lead all the devoted woman worshipping the Siva Linguam - symbol for furtility - in this small temple along a railway. He poored the milk over the Nandi, the transporter of Siva. Besides me and the priest only women were gathered here from the simple neighborhood out of center Madurai.
PS the Siva Lingam is in fact symbol for His fallus, typical Indian, as life is one unit of several aspects always very present, not like in the West, we put everything in seperate shelves.
While the service went on some men were less lucky on the railway.
