The Algarve has 3 different regions: The coastline on the south with the famous
sunny beaches,the plains on the center with mainly orchards, and the mountains
on the north that separate the province from the rest of the country.
This high mountains are some times a natural barrier from the north winds very
common in summertime in Portugal and also from rain and bad weather...thus this
effect with the sun on the plains down below and the menace of rain on the mountains....
