Another pressie, this one from Linda. An SMC Pentax-M 1:2.8 100mm lens. Shown here on my MX. One of the problems with old kit is you can only buy what's already out there. You can't just order a new lens from the B&H catalogue. It's easy enough to get a 28, 35, 50, 135 or a selection of low quality zooms. If you're after something a little more unusual, you have to search a little harder. The 100mm f2.8 'M' has been out of production for 25 years. Up 'til now, I've had 28/50/135 lenses, but always felt the 135 was too long. The 100mm focal length is just about right. Combined with the fully manual and mechanical MX, this could be 35mm photographic nirvana.
