I was getting ready to go to the airport at the end of my Christmas leave from Coast Guard Group Baltimore. At this point I didn't know that I was going to get bumped as a standby military passenger from a day's worth of flights to Washington DC and Baltimore, and that I was only going to be able to fly as far as Atlanta on a late night flight and then having to ride a long Greyhound bus to Baltimore because all flights were booked from Atlanta to Baltimore and the Washington DC area.
