There is some legend concerning Sahmeran, the King of Snakes. He was in love with the Tarsus' Kings daughter and watched here bathe in the Old (Sahmeran) Hamam, still in use today from the top of a dome. One time he lost his grip, fell down, and had his head cut off by the princess's guards. Stains in that hamam are believed to be traces of Sahmeran's blood.
I think this is an opportune moment to quote Barnum's "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute" and refer to the site where this quote is disattributed - if that is a word - to Barnum after all. Have fun.
