An outrigger canoe in the main lobby of the hotel. Outrigger canoe's were the Hawaiians means of transportation back in the day.

Imagine paddling one of these across 50 miles of open water between islands? Suddenly the 405 at rush hour doesn't seem so bad.

They didn't use these for transoceanic trips though. When they traveled back and forth between Hawaii, Fiji, Samoa and other South Pacific Islands, they used the large double hull voyaging canoe's like the Hokule'a.
