Official opening of the hot drink season...

...it's the cold's fault, but well my regular dosage of boiling hot green tea (mint please...) and cappuccino has sky rocketed! I look more like an electric wire these days, with all this caffeine running in my veins, instead of blood.
Some of you would laugh at what Portuguese consider cold, but it's not our fault, after all, we live in this cosy, full of sunshine, little corner of Europe. The problem is when God goes for a snack in the middle of the night and forgets to close his fridge door... that cold breeze is hitting on us now...brrrrrrr.... So, there I was by the kitchen window, tring to ignore the fog and hoping that He would notice that He left that door opened again...
For those who wonder... that's my third cappucino of the day. I don't count the green tea though... and then I complain that I don't sleep well :)))
Foggy mornings here, mean sunshine packed afternoons (you're right Grandma, wherever you are) This is why I love the fog!! Its mysterious nature is quite pleasing. Well... almost always... today I had a really anoying "out of the fog encounter" with a College acquaintance of mine (yes! yes! I am not writing friend anymore). I just hate when someone out of the blue (or in this case, out of the fog) tells me "Shit girl, why do you still dress like you're 20?" No one can tell me that!!!! Especially when I am demoniacally stuffed with caffeine, suffering from less than average sunshine hours and other assorted pains, that can result in a seriously pissed off Ana...
I dress the way I want! You hear me?? Actually, I've been here for 38 years and counting, so I dare say, that it's the 20 year olds that dress like me!! Not the opposite :)))) I don't know why people are so damned narrow minded, but well...it's not surprising really, some people have serious neuron deficiency, caused by their tight butt attitudes and this is why I couldn't quote this amazing Mark Twain thought to her : "Age is mind over matter; if you don't mind, it don't matter" ... Was Mark Twain smart or what? I wish I'd thought of that one myself :))

Well Ana, I had a good laugh reading your very funny and inspirational note. Love this portrait of yourself, and especially the 'foggy' edges. Well done my friend. I think I feel like a hot cappuccino now; so I'm off to the kitchen... and I won't forget to leave the door open! Ha. Ha. See ya!

Another beautiful and expressive SP, Ana. I love your caption too, it's really nice to have this text with your picture. You use the light here very differently from what you usually do, but it's you again, because it's so well done! Continue to dress how you like to do it! :-)

Beautiful image and composition--just spot on!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and words too and yes, yes, yes you have the right attitude what you wear is your business. I dress for me and mostly for comfort. I think you pushed a button for me as my husband is just so into what other people think right now. I am so, what the hell do I care what others think! It is my life and I am living it the way I want to as long as I am not doing harm to others it is my choice. I too love Mark Twain.--Rene

Wow! Ana this is quite something different from your other photos. This one looks so soft and fresh taken just about to go to work. Lovely SP of you.

Amen to the green tea, the java, the way you dress, and the beautiful photo above! I can relate to all of it. I dress the same way now as I did 20 years ago. Ana, you are too good, too hip, and oh, such a cutey :0)

Last time I checked, clothes at the stores where arranged by size not age! And besides, a lot of 20 year olds would love to look like you!

Whoa girl.. (notice it doesn't say "shit). PUT THE CAFFEINE DOWN!! lol
Seriously, this is a beautifully composed photo...
I WANT your earrings! They are gorgeous and perfect.
Thirdly, you have the right attitude. You do what you do when you want to do it. At my age I've had family (female) tell me I needed short hair because .. well, older women shouldn't have long hair.
Whatever! There is no age on style and what we individually like and look good in.. so all those people who go by the "invisible" rules someone once heard can be like lemmings..
We'll be us.
If God left his fridge door open there, I must be living in the freezer :S

Dress how you want; behave how you want... -- it's what makes you you! Great introspective shot (and great earrings...).
