November 18: Do The Math!

San Diego Convention Center

This late registrant was one of about 800 people attending the NAPP Photoshop Seminar conducted by Ben Wilmore today at our convention center.

That is about $79,200.00 gross at $99.00 a pop!!!

I got my money’s worth. He is an excellent presenter, and his section on using RAW and Curves were quite educational for me.

The bottom line, according to Ben, is do use RAW if you can, and even if you don’t he asserts that doing curves takes care of about 90% of the jobs that need to be done in PS.

There was no funny business today (like some of the crazy images I post). It was all about how to get the most out of an image.

You went - sounds like it was very worthwhile. Maybe next time we can go together?!

Great lines!
I love Ben's books - he is very indepth on everything and explains things very well. Glad you had a great time!

The lines and shadows on the photos are excellent. A great perspective and composition. :)
Gets my vote!

Nice image, and very respectful of your commitment to PS learning.

I am so envious. I would have loved to attend this.
This is such an unusual shot for you. When I scanned my favorites page(over 150 photographers :-) ) looking for your work I couldn't find it. I had to go back over the pages several times. The session must have activated a new creative section of your brain. Great shot!

The stairs to photo shop nirvana. Cool shot

I love the shot, Robin. The NAPP Seminars sound like good fun. I think we can join NAPP from the UK but I don't think they bring the seminars over here..... one day!

I know she is going up, but if I back away and take her out of the image, it could be going down....an optical illusion that curves did not produce. Great image, Robin. I'm anxious to see all the good things you learned at the seminar.

hey, I recognise these steps! Nice use of angles, lines and shadows!

I think I'm more impressed with the camera your using than the money !! All three are interesting & sharp shots, this one is an excellent angle.

Nevermind the seminar :) I really like the lines and the perspective of this shot.

I will be anxious for any tips that you can pass along. I wish I could have been there.

Sounds like a really great workshop Robin--I do hope you'll be passing along tips in the next few days as I've been diggng around for 5 year old tutorials I remember doing!

$79k + for Adobe isn't pocket change. It's too bad the Center cost $100k to rent out (just kidding, I don't have the foggiest)
