As honored as I would be on a joint entry...I must say you should enter it yourself...All I did was mess around in P/S with some buttons...you saw, composed, shot the photo...and did all the work on it! Please go ahead with it if you like that version best! Like i said, i did 3 simple alterations....you did all the hard work and artistry that makes it a great shot!

Cheers,
:-D

Wow! :-D, I really like your sepia version! Can we do a joint entry in eligible with both our names as "artist"? The only problem I have with the sepia version is the same problem I had with the color version only it is more noticeable in monotone, the clouds are not white. Your eye sees them as white in the color version but it is harder to ignore the fact that they aren't white in the monotone. Thanks for posting it! By the way, I had the name of the vane wrong in my earlier post, it is The Weather Jester and was made by John Elling. ~Sharon

I like both versions, but I think I like the monochrome the best. Nice comp! Cindy

Sharon,

I uploaded it to the pending gallery...

I think it looks more "machine" than the current color version...

Cheers,
:-D

PS. I'm glad you had the clouds too...you used them well...I have waited and waited for those clouds again to no avail....the day I took "fall weather", I was running to catch the commuter train and had very little time to appreciate the true photo-op of the clouds...

Thanks, Bruce! This weather vane is part of an exhibit, now over, at the Norman Rockwell Museum of artist created vanes. This is called Jester's Vane and when the wind blows the little cup shaped things on the bottom would spin, hit a little piece of metal and ring.
:-D This image is a tip of the hat to your image at the beginning of this challenge, Fall Weather. I love that shot and was very excited when I saw that I had similar clouds for this shot. I hope you don't mind. I would love to see your sepia version of this, would you post a link to it here so we all can see it? Thanks for your comments! ~Sharon

This is a beautiful image! The vane is a cool piece of gear and nicely contrasted with a great sky. Well done! -- Bruce

Sharon, sorry about the spelling error! :-D

Shoron,

I like this photo a lot. I did d/l a copy and made it b/w, then boosted contrast and decreased brightness slightly...and then slightly toned it with sepia. I liked that version quite a lot...it takes away from the sky, but adds a new dimension to the photo...I do like this as is and with some post-proc. Cool clouds and cool weathervane!

Cheers,
:-D
