Nov 9. Willy wagtail

This little bird has decided to build his nest under our patio roof.
They have a lovely melodious song, except when they are mating, when they 'chitter'
loudly at anything they think is threatening. They are not afraid of anything
bigger than them.
His nest seems to be built mostly of spiderwebs and tiny sticks. Not as big as a tennis ball yet.

thanks for the lesson in their nest building . . AND for the size comparison . .to me it looked like the size of a melon!

I like this shot a lot. The bird is sharp, I like the angle from which we see it, the blue sky. The composition is simple and effective.

Pretty little bird. Great exposure. It must have been hard to capture the black against the sky. I like it that they bold. It seems to suit the way he looks.

I've had one darting around outside my door but never still long enough for me to get a shot at him....I love it when he raises his voice :>) Cute aren't they.

Gorgeous shot Sheila! Love that sticky mess of a nest too :)
Aren't they noisy for their size when they're annoyed!
