I don't envy the owner of this horse, another and a pony in this Lee, NH Coral.
The three obviously have had a great time rolling in cockle burrs, which are
sharp, round, prickly thorns that stick into everything that contacts them
this time of the year. I think their manes and tails will have to have all the
hair shaved with the amount of tight entanglement these poor horses have
created with the burrs. The pony is shaggy, so it has more in the rest of
its body coat than just the tail and mane.The pony's forelock is so tightly
entangled that it points out forwards and at first glance, I thought it
had been dressed up as a unicorn for Halloween.
