Bug Dreams

I keep waiting
knowing one day
I’ll burst forth from
my skin, shed the
shell on the bark
of a tree, new fat
radiant green bug body,
locust-song singing
full of my own individual insect self
full in my fullness
wide-eyed, winged,
flying.
