Guanzhou

First thing I noticed about almost all the Chinese cities is that they all look a lot better at night. This was taken from the window of my apartment in Guanzhou. All the photos I have of this city were taken on the same day/night as it was the one day, in all the months I was there, that the visibilty seemed to be more than 200m. This city is vast, exciting and has just about anything anybody could wish to see or do.

Hi. There are one or two which your dad has now uploaded. I will rename them so you can see which they are. The visibility can be quite good for a short time after a heavy shower! Unfortunately, the Chinese are generally far too busy working to spend their time painting or indulging in other hobbies. That's not to say you can't see some beautiful artistry there, because you certainly can.

Have you got any pictures of Guanzhou in the daytime? Why was the visibility particularly good that day? My image of China is a lot of ricefields, people writing in Kanji and illuminating manuscripts with delicate pictures. It's a slight surprise, but a serendipitous one (sorry, I tend to add in at least one 'long word' whenever I write anything, I think that one means a happy accident).
