Night Shift

Holyoke, Massachusetts USA

Driving home from a concert (Gordon Lightfoot...remember him?), I spotted this view into the heating plant for a local hospital.

Looks like a cubist painting

Yvonne, Rod, and Markjay...I'm glad you liked this one. I generally tend to shoot scenes in nature, but sometimes the wonderful geometrics of an industrial site are almost like abstract art. I've driven by this building many times, but never at night, and the light and colors contrasted by the dark building caught my eye.

Mary Anne, this is a GREAT entry!! I just love the yellow color inside the factory, in contrast with the window frame and window panes. Even the other colors in the background, the orange and blue work very well here! Thanks for sharing this.

The blacked out window frame makes this shot really stand out, excellent work Mary Anne.
PS. Installing all what you see in there was my trade for 45yrs so I really enjoyed your shot, brought back some memories.

Good eye Mary Anne. Life goes on and on doesn't it all night long. Joan Baez, how fun and I saw Gordon Lightfoot a long time ago. I think Joan would be really fun.
great shapes in this shot....yvonne

Thanks, Sharon. The concert was very good...I was especially impressed with his backup band. But even better was the Joan Baez concert I went to last night!

I like this a lot, Mary Anne! Sort of machine age Mondrian! Well seen! How was the Gordon Lightfoot concert? ~Sharon
