On 23 October 2005 a massive influx appeared along the coast of the Frisian Waddensea-islands, with several 1000s of birds. During a normal autumn only c. 25 birds were counted, this day on Terschelling alone more than 2000 (on nearby Schiermonnikoog more than 3000!).
