22-OCT-2005 Petesie

10/22/05

Today I attended a graduation ceremony where my son and granddaughter received
the next belt in their training in martial arts. I realized how fortunate I am
to have a son who lives so passionately and shares one of his passions (photography)
with me, and a granddaughter who shares one of her passions (she started martial arts first) with her Dad.
I am so proud of both of them.

I took many photos with my Coolpix, but none that came close to this one with my son's
camera....I think he has convinced me that I am ready for that D70....no remarks from
all of you Canon aficionados required! LOL

Hey, Nikon vs. Canon debate people.....
Is your life going to be empty and meaningless when you have to finally admit that your skill is of paramount importance in photography....that your choice of gear is of little note or significance.
You Nikonites...are you getting over your insecurities now that Nikon has stepped up to the plate and scored a home run with the D2X and, soon, the D200.
You Canonistas...yes, Canon has had better marketing moves and a big lead. Nikon equipment has caught up in technology.
The day has arrived. Nobody know what camera brand is used unless you tell us.
We are achieving equipment parity. Debate on the equipment forums will continue ad infinitum but...thanks gos...will ring hollow!

BTW, that's my D2X above. She needs a Nikkor, if for no other reason, to share my Nikkors.

Very, very nice....hope you have your new camera, soon....you have loads of talent and I think you'll really expand your skills with a DSLR, whatever the brand. Although for the record, lol, I love our Nikon cameras.

Listen to Cindy, get a Canon :)

You have something to be proud of.

I came from a Nikon Coolpix myself. Your photography skill will grow with leaps and bounds once you get ahold of a DSLR. I left the dark side and came over to Canon. Whatever DSLR you decide on---go for it!

Nice shot of them, Petesie. Sounds like you've got the new camera fever.
