Time for my once a year bike ride to the Marin Headlands.
Rode my bike across the Golden Gate Bridge then up the scenic road up to
the headlands. Stopped at the top and visited Hawk Hill. There were a lot of
bird watchers from the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory. They were observing and counting
the number of raptors migrating south thru the Marin Headlands.
Raptors such as Golden Eagles, Hawks, Osprey and Kites are visible as they shoot thru
the headlands. Saw a couple of Red-Tailed hawks during my short stay.
Here is a web page describing the hill and the statistics on the many raptors migrating. http://www.ggro.org/index.html
