The girl in the portrait is my daughter Sascha of 1,5 years old. To get to the proper height I went down on my knees to get a straight line between the camera and her face. She's looking up to her grandfather, which gives her eyes a gazing look and makes her bright eyes more prominent. The basic light is natural (sunny day) but because of the cast of shadows of leaves I've used a fill-in flash to get a lighter face to a darker background. Because of the position of her face the nose shadow is minimal and not distracting. The clothing was not specifically chosen to be in this picture but the colours match her blushes.
