The no-hands pie eating contest at the community show is a big draw in spite of the fact that no actual pies are eaten in the course of the contest. It's a tiny tart shell filled with either chocolate or vanilla pudding. The key to winning - grab the tin with your teeth, flip the entire thing over onto the plastic tablecloth, toss the tin aside and then 'Hoover' away. The fastest sucker wins - and ends up with a face full of pudding. One local family is creating a pie eating dynasty with three brothers (ages 8 through 14) and their MOM (who I am convinced is their trainer) all aiming this year for their third straight wins. (Mom Lisa came in second; the boys all took first again.)
