Third Place
Korean War Memorial
Fremiet

The Mall, Washington, D.C.

Capturing the energy of confusion, caution and danger in this memorial I found tough. When you see the monument, it is immediately apparant. Capturing it is another matter. Shooting in the dark helped convey confusion and caution ..as did the black and white medium. The red added, for me, the sense of danger which I felt immediately on seeing it.

Fremiet,

This is GREAT! You have managed to captured some life and emotion in this memorial. The b&w along with the night shooting were great choices! Nice. Jim

Dee: They are polished strips of marble/granite (?) spaced on the ground (on grass) and they reflect the statues' images. Fremiet

I like this night shot, especially with the red lights forming a border along the top of the photo. What am I seeing on the ground? looks like strips of light with faces in them? --Dee
