The two trachys and the Chamaerops were planted back in 1999, as were the two Dicksonia. The two trachys were 6" and 12" trunked plants, and the tallest is now over 6'. The Chamaerops didn't do very well for a couple of years, being prone to brown spotting on the leaves which I put down to water damage over the winter. Th last couple of years I haven't seen this though. The two Dicksonia were two foot trunks and the fronds this year have reached the 2 metre mark.
The tall thing inbetween is a Cardiocrinum, a monocarpic plant with lovely scented lily-like flowers.
There's also a recent acquisition of a Rhopalostylis sapida from Ian Potterton to the right of the trachys.
Don't blame me for the choice of statuary!
