"Do you want a coconut Melissa?" They ask...before I know it one of the boys is climbing up the tree to get me one. This tree also serves as a shower - see the showerhead? In the background, half the village is fishing from their dugouts, or standing upon rocks in the water. They are hand-lining...they keep the extra fishing hooks in a plastic bottle and wrap fishing line around the belly of it... then they swing the line over their heads or to their sides and then fling the bait in the water. They then jig it towards them. Adults and children take part, men and women. Although they have access to larger fish, like tuna or mackerel, which is caught deeper waters, they prefer the small fish they catch themselves, because they are sweeter.
