Northern Flicker, Red-shafted

Flash was not used. This is the sweet light before sunset. I've started seeing more of these of late. I also saw a Yellow-billed Magpie today. I haven't seen one for several months. I had feared that West Nile Virus had wiped them out.

Wow! And I was pleased to get a shot of a yellow-shafted flicker hanging on a tree (to be posted in a day or so when I get time). This sure trumps my effort. Very impressive.

Wonderful capture, beautiful lighting. So glad to hear about the yellow-billed magpie. I had just been reading that they were all feared taken by the West Nile virus.

This, is awesome. The light of course is great and your capture is superb. I am impressed by how clean ISO 800 looks here
