After reading through about 80% of what everyone is doing or has done, I don't know what to tell about my self and family.
I've been married to the same wonderful man for 38 years and we have 2 wonderful daughters, Amy (35) and Ivy (25). There was a long dry spell between children.
We have lived in Galveston almost 30 years and about 8 years ago we bought an old home (built in 1886) to renovate. What a chore! But a wonderful house at any rate. It was broken down into 3 apartments so Bud and I have an apartment and so do/did both of the girls. Ivy is still home. Told her we would not build a nursery on and don't look for her to leave any time soon either. Amy is married, lives in Houston, has produced our one and only granddaughter, Madeliene, who is 6 1/2 months old.
UPDATE MAY 2009
Now everything revolves around Miss Maddie! To hell with the house... it will be here long after I'm gone. We beat a path to Houston every chance we have. Galveston is about the slowest moving place I've ever been and afraid it has rubbed off on me. Since Amy moved to Houston, we moved my sewing, quilting and an office to her apartment.
Don't know what else to tell all of you. I have been gone from Memphis too long and haven't kept in touch with anyone. I'm happy and have a wonderful family. To me this is life !

UPDATE MAY 2009
Amy, my older daughter and is 40 and my other daughter, Ivy, is 30. Hell, I never thought about myself as being 40 much less have a daughter that age! She's married to Ben Blakeney who is in the IT department at Mary Kay Cosmetics headquarters in Dallas. They have 2 children Maddie (5) and Bud (3), 2 dogs and a cat. Since I'm not the sitter type of Nana, the children attend a Montessori school during the day. Ben has a degree in History from the University of Houston and an IT degree from, where else but Texas A & M.
Amy graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Social Work. Then received her MSW from the University of Houston. After they moved to Dallas, Amy started her doctorate program at he University of Texas and was selected as outstanding student in her class. I'm so proud of her. I'm not certain but I don't believe she's made anything under an A during any of her master's or doctorate studies. She may have made a B in stats, but I'm not sure.
Bud, my husband of 40 years died four years ago and my daughters decided it was too much trouble for me and themselves to pack and board-up the house for hurricanes, they decided my dog (Deoggie) and I should move to the Dallas area with Amy and her family. Amy and Ben made an addition onto the house for me that is large enough to include a small kitchen area, too. The end of August will be my 2-year anniversary up here; I think it's going to work out! I really do love it up here.
