don't fear the reaper

It was summer yesterday,
but at this equinoxial time of year
things can change quickly.
Home from work this morning,
I had toast and tea in the garden.
Woke up later
there were strong winds,
dark clouds and a hint of rain.
The grim reaper of winter will soon be coming for this poor little sweet pea.

(Oh and I was pleased to find out that the pic below was a runner up in BBC's 'a picture of Britain' contest!)

I'll take that weather over our summer heat any day. :-) This is a great shot - love the shadow, and the colors and textures add that little something extra.
