Sand Dune - Namib Desert

These are the tallest and largest sand dunes in the world. They obtain their characteristic red color due to their high concentration of ferrous compounds (Iron) in the sand. These, different than many other desert sand dunes, would not move or tend to migrate by the effect of the wind, and they remain stationary. The wind does contribute to the beautiful curves and shapes of the dunes as you can see in this picture.

Amazing light and composition! Every time I see this dune, I am struck by its beauty. Must have been incredible to see it in front of you.

I love most of your work but this one is simple breathtaking. I am a photograper from Dominica Republic and friends with your sister.

Stunning gallery but this image is my favorite! Just bowled me over with one mouse click!
What is the distance between the foreground and the 'dune' er mountain....?
Deserves to be in any art gallery! :-)

This one is unbelivable... The way you've turned a landscape shot into an almost abstract modern art piece is just fantastic. Great creation.
