Memory

Tynemouth

A row of bench seats at the headland at Tynemouth. Most are dedicated to lost loved ones. From here there is a wonderful view out to sea and a huge expanse of big sky. For those of a religious persuasion it is easy to feel closer to your chosen God at this place when it is still, quiet and there are few people about. To me this image has a very lonely feel to it - primarily because of the solitary figure - but actually I always feel very peaceful when I'm sitting on one of these benches.

David, this is simply a profoundly beautiful image, and I agree, the lone figure makes it even more so.
