Bayou Metairie

This area may have suffered the most damage from the canal levee break. It would normally be lush and green. Those are not fall colors, but destruction. The water lingered here the longest and there is a black film over everything. This area is probably one of the most used in the Park and on its banks are the Peristyle, the Bandstand, the Casino Building, the children's playground and it is home to hundreds of waterfowl. People visit every day to feed the fowl. However, on this day there was not a duck, a goose, a swan or a heron to be seen.

This shot looks like it was taken on a fall day. So sad to see.
