Today's image, which has no pretentions of being anything other than a snapshot, is primarily destined for those of you who have been following the trials and tribulations of the driveway saga. This is what the bottom of my garden looks like now that the work is almost completed. I say almost, because there are still a few things to be done, such as the remains of the 10ft wall being rendered, coped and whitewashed; the Old Potting Shed (OPS) getting a new door and frame, having its window frame and all woodwork painted and the brickwork whitewashed. Behind the OPS there is a small semi enclosed patio area (to the right of the rowan tree behind the car) that is to be made weatherproof with the addition of a drywall and roof - this will be my 'chill out zone' once the OPS has been converted into my office - complete with electricity, internet and phone line - a place I will retire too when the translations are getting too much for me! We still have a couple of fences to put up, following which we will install the driveway lighting and a gate buzzer. Once that has been done, we will turn our attentions to the Old Washhouse (which is having a new roof put on it next week!). Never ending, but always improving... BTW, happy birthday to my wee sis, Debbie!

Last year I had a nice meal of picanha à pedra in a lovely little Alcântara restaurant
