I was born in Laredo in 1942 and moved away in 1963. We lived on Salinas Ave north of this fire station . I can't remember when it started, but for some unkown reason, almost every single time we drove by this fire station I did the Sign of the Cross (I am a Catholic). It just happened naturely, I never anticipated that we were getting near the place, before I knew it I just went for it. Sometimes I would catch myself starting to do it and stop, feeling silly about it but always wonderling why I did it.Even now 42 years later, whenever I visit Laredo and I pass by this fire station on San Bernardo Ave, I catch myself making the Sign of the Cross!
