Sun Flower
September 8

This sunflower is quite amazing. The seed was planted by a bird or chipmunk in the middle of a dry patch of dirt.
It's never been watered (by us) or fertilized, and yet it grew and bloomed with its face to the rising sun.

While both are lovely photos, that one on top is really pretty special. We are not often treated to that angle in a flower photograph, and with the light coming through as it is this is just a knockout and unique enough to not be just another beautiful flower shot.
