08_09_05 Food for Thought

So...The threat of fuel protests is upon us again as the price of a litre of petrol approaches £1 in the UK.... Interestingly, the single largest contribution to travel related pollution comes from Air travel and not cars....yet air travel prices are getting cheaper all the time.... whereas cars contribute to the pollution far less and the government claim the tax they add onto the price goes (some of it) towards fighting the effects burning it has on the environment....seems strange to me....Many Petrol stations are now replacing their signs to accomodate a 4 digit price as many (like this sainsbury's one), only have 3 so can't go beyond 99.9p / litre!

Cliff, they can just put a vinyl sticker ".9" on the end temporarily and have plenty of room for expansion. heaven forbid.

Yes, I paid 94.9 today in Surrey. However, I did see a sign at an Esso garage that said 83.9 but soon realised it is closed for refit lol.
