Hi Glen,
I have just followed a link to your wonderful shots of Wilson's Petrels at sea, and I noticed that you had a page of Band-rumped Petrel shots too. However, the bird in question, at Hydrogapher Canyon on August 20th 2005 is, in my opinion certainly a Wilson's Petrel and not a Band-rumped. I can see that some of the positions/shapes are not so typical of Wilson's and suggest another species, but I suspect this is just to do with the angle of view and perhaps also that the bird was in rapid 'escape mode'! If you would like a more detailed analysis of why I am sure it is a wilson's please get back to me. Regards,
