What an Irony.....I love all your Images, which are not only "beautifully shot" but there are some genuine criticism in it.
I don't want to say your works are with some "journalistic" point of view, but I mean they are amazing because of the TRUE Essense of Journalism in it. Great Works!!
The other side of the coin from my own image athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/31310839, and quite different from your opening image as well. The tunnel represents a trip back into the past here -- the huge poster of Mao overhead adds context and the lack of people within the tunnel invites us to explore it with, perhaps, a touch of hesitancy. The posture of the guard is critical here -- it suggests a sense of tradition and history as well, and its abstract lack of detail enhances the dream like context you have placed on the entire sequence.
