Wood meets Metal by Norbert

Chicago

That single barrel shotgun is presently a Wall Hanger.
The gun was made by Hyde & Charles S. Shattuck, gun makers located in Hatfield Mass.
Shatuck-patent single barrel shotguns where produced from 1880 until about 1908.

If that old gun could talk I would be listening to a lot of hunting stories

other sizes: small medium original auto

Norbert, I've always liked the glow you get from old wood objects. The lighting you've used gives this extra warmth.

The color, warmth, crop, and lighting give this capture a gallery quality. Great job!

Norbert, I like the catch of light on this shotgun...and the diagonal position in the frame. Almost an abstract. Nice photo. MFC

Cool shot - I love the low key lighting, the gleam of light on the metal, and the beautiful dark color of the wood!

Norbert, nice low key shot here. I like how the hammer(?) is highlighted, while the stock(?) is lighted just enough so that there is a hint of grain and texture. Also, thanks for the history.---Deb
