I got a dozen nice shots of the Sears Tower and surrounding high rise buildings, but my favorite shot of the day was this gentleman. He had asked me for a quarter. I asked him if he'd let me take his picture and gave him a dollar. He was suspicious and said, "What're you going to do with it?" and I explained I was an amateur artist of sorts. Well, even though he agreed, the shot captured all of his skepticism and disbelief, as well as the weathered history of his face. And I am reminded that the warm homes and meals most of us take for granted are gifts to be grateful for.
