Ernst Haas Is My Inspiration...

New London, Minnesota

I was out for my evening walk, but the evening grew dark. Across the Mill Pond the lights on the bridge made for an interesting string of pearls, particularly as reflected off the water. However there was not enough light for a shake-free exposure, so I decided to introduce intentional camera shake, ala Ernst Haas http://www.ernst-haas.com/main.html (Go to 'by Haas', then select 'Color Galleries', and finally 'Motion' for a few examples of this style done by a Master.)

I never know how something would look on a wall and I suppose I don't really care. It's just really a nice piece of work, work being that the combination, drudgery, a spot of good luck and all the rest so that you're ready to do this when the moment presents itself.

I like the way the strobing lights turn to dashes to give clear focus within the great wash of colour

Very well done. It's interesting that the clouds at the top of the frame don't appear to have the same motion the lights do. Obviously they do, but the motion you did with the camera matches a natural look in them.

Greg I like this.

I like this; I did something similar while I was crossing a bridge and photographing the tail lights of cars ahead of me.
