A Family Portrait Experience

Freehold, NJ

While visiting family in New Jersey over the Fourth of July holiday, I was asked to take this indoor family photo. It presented special problems including a shallow depth of field, back lighting, and an impatient family who would not pose for more than one shot. And to make matters worse, I had to be in the picture which meant that it was necessary for me to use my tripod with the self timer….. by the way, if you have never seen my picture before, I am the wild, bearded guy in the upper right, with my hand on the pretty girl’s shoulder… the good looking lady to my right, is my wife.

Well done! Just getting everyone to look at the camera and keep their eyes open is a major accomplishment. / Michael

This is wonderful family indeed, very very sweet shot ! And I don't blame you for teasing this beauty's shoulder, you always had a great taste regardless of circumstances and ongoing political issues with Hillary Clinton... Not sure why I mentioned the latter one, need my mental medicine...

Nice to meet you, Michael. Very good portrait, besides the problems...
