10 August

Waterthorpe, Sheffield

Noticed these bales in the field at the bottom of the road where I live as I came home from work.
Not the circular ones we seem to see more of these days but oblong ones.
I was going out later and in a bit of a rush but stolled into the middle of the field in my work clothes with the little Ixus i.
The passing motorists must have thought I was a bit of a wierdo!

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I love the old bales. This is a great countryside shot - I can almost smell it.

almost looks painted, like the way your eye is bounced inwards from bail to bail

wow Sheena..this is an excllent picture with so many elements that make it a perfect capture .. The bales, the shape of the bales, and the golden colour offset by the blue sky.. this is so serene as well as artistic.. its a photo painting.. whats more its fulfills the 'traditional' 1:3 rule of having something important at the grid points!!
You have so many beautiful images in your othergalleries too.. I've just discovered you:-) and adding you to my favourites..

loved your comments about motorists! I've sooooo been there! I haven't seen any of these this year, just the usual roll ups.
