This old workshop needs some painting...

5 August 2005

As promised, this is another image from my trip yesterday to the old workshop on the shore at Kingoodie, and is part of my "neglected" series. Processing done today, however. More trips were made to the recycling centre today. While we were clearing out the old washhouse, we came across a box full of Liam's old videos - I mean videos of children's programmes and Disney films - not videos of Liam. After some discussion about what should become of them, sense prevailed and they were loaded into the car for disposal in the Oxfam skip. Unfortunately, this skip was full, so we had to leave the collection of about 30 videos sitting beside it. In no time at all, the man who works at the recycling centre (the one who makes sure you use the correct colour coded skip) picked them up and took them into his hut. I wonder if he'll be disappointed to discover that they all are children's videos. The mighty Clio had to make another trip to see Uncle Deke today on account of its broken exhaust. Car repaired, I finished clearing out the washhouse when I heard the faint noise of trickling water. Strange, I thought. I traced the noise to a large cupboard full of tins of paint and bathroom tiles. I pulled the cupboard out of the way and peered behind it and saw an old pipe that was leaking water into a drain. I never knew that there was a water pipe in the washhouse. The cupboard that the pipe was hidden behind was there when we moved in! I just wonder for how long it has been leaking! We have decided that we will get a plumber to fit a tap and sink, which will be handy for the garden. My computer has started playing up on me again. Perhaps it is time to retire it - or maybe I'll just get it fixed... what do you think?

Painting those details should be a crime. Nice spot!

You must have laid flat on your back to get this angle. :) Great old building and perspective. Good news about the pipe. Being there I mean not leaking. And yes, get a new computer fast before the old one crashes. That's what they do and then it's format the HDD and lose everything. Hope you got your pics backed up on CDs or something.

It carries your theme well.
I think you should take your computer to the same store as before, and look up the same salesman :)

I like the Dof in this image and the angle of such as well. Nice tones indeed.

Nice old building. They don't make hardware like that anymore.
Why is it called a washhouse if you didn't know it had water connected in it?

Nice Stu, looking forward to the series. As far as a new computer, you've propbably already decided on a new one : ) You know it makes sense in the long run.
