Frustration! I woke up this morning to find that my new modem was no longer working, even though it was indicating it was online. When I contacted customer support of my local cable company, I was told that the MAC Address on the modem did not match the MAC address on file, so their system had shut it down thinking it was a stolen modem. Duh! I explained that it was a personal modem bought by me at a local retailer and that I had returned their original modem. “Oh yes” the person said, “I see where you returned the old modem. Your new one shouldn’t have been shut down! The only problem now is that the ONLY person that can re-provision your new modem will not be back to work until Monday!” MONDAY?! For this I’m spending fifty bucks a month?
