You can find them there anytime...they sit around waiting for people to catch fish so they can have the leftovers. They'll let you get within a few inches of them...if they don't like what you're doing, they'll peck with the little fishhook at the end of that long beak. They look like pterydactyl dinosaurs' relatives, especially when they fly!
Justin, those pelicans sure look happy, grooming themselves along the edge of that pier. Nice lighiting and composition here. I especially like how the one is watching the viewer...I don't think he wants me to get in line too :) Nice shot. MFC
